From 98.7 theCoast website
COKE TO SPONSOR WILDWOOD FIREWORKS, 2 TRAM CARS
Coca Cola has stepped up to the plate with a major sponsorship
for the Wildwoods boardwalk this summer. According to boardwalk
SID director Patrick Rosenello, Coke will sponsor the Friday night
fireworks displays, to start at 10:30pm, not 11pm. And, two of the eight tram cars on the boardwalk will be wrapped this summer with Coke logos.

Thanks on the info on the Fireworks Time Change. I will know to find a good spot earlier now w/ my Wife & kids. When people see COKE on the Tram Cars, it will probably make them very thirsty especially on those HOT Days and they will rush into the $5.00 store or Eating Establishments to buy some. Maybe the Tape on the Tram will be changed to a Jingle saying something like "Have a Coke while Watching The Tram Car Please!" (Just Kidding). ;D Joking aside, it is Nice to see a Large Corporate Sponsor to help out. Hopefully, others will pitch in when Funding is needed to make an event work which in turn will draw people to the Wildwoods keeping the Small Businesses going, especially the Older ones that have been there almost forever. (they will not sell to Condo Development if they are making Money I guess) "D.J. Andy"

So, if you're seen drinking a Pepsi, will they not let you on the Tram Car?

Coke on a tram car, I don't think so... What about free samples on a hot day? How nice that would be...

Coke on a tram car, I don't think so... I don't care for the idea either. Too "corporate", for lack of a better term. I'd rather see ads for local businesses on the Tram Cars if ads are going to be there.

C'mon guys, baseball, apple pie, Coca-Cola, the Wildwoods... all staples of classic "Americana" at it's finest. Actually, I'm a Coke (the soda, before Crippled gets any ideas ;D) enthusiast and memorabilia collector, so I might just be a bit biased here. But, seriously, I see where wildwander and Martin are coming from. I would also much, much rather advertising on the Tram Cars go to local companies, and I'm not wild about "corporate" advertising and sponsorship in such a high-profile way as this. Then again, perhaps such a partnership will be good for the Wildwoods and their re-emerging image... I don't know... I really have mixed feelings on this one...
