I went on this dark ride for the 1st time this year. It wasnt bad. You got to shoot at the targets for points. Depending on your score ,you can win stuff. At the end it has a great big skeleton or monster of some sort jumping out at you. That was the only scary part of the ride. Overall it was average. 5 dollars to ride and 3 dollars to re ride. FlynGn, your son would love this ride. It was kind of short but still fun shooting at all the targets.

It is a fun little ride.
Kids do love it, though, as Mike suggested. Everytime I come down with my younger cousins and/or Angie's siblings, they can't wait to go on this ride.
If anyone recalls, there were some rumors some time ago that Sally Corp. (the owners) were looking to remove the ride and put in another themed ride/shooting gallery game.
I corresponded via e-mail with the president of the company earlier this year and he said, while there have been some discussions about re-theming the ride, it would remain Den of Lost Thieves for the time being.
He promised me another update this summer, so I'll try to get in touch with him again and see if anything is new in this regard.

Maybe they should put a Ghost Blasters in there. It's like a haunted mansion ride. Morey's already rethemed Dark River into a pirate ride, now there's two pirate dark rides. Sure there's the scarier Zombie World down the walk if you want scary instead of kid-friendly, but it would be nice to see some more scary dark rides rather than kid-friendly dark rides. Like if you would have compared Keystone Kops with Whacky Shack, Kops was more for kids but the Shack was more scarier with ghosts, lady getting sawn in half, etc.

There is a small version shooting gallery in the supercade in the front of nickels midway pier. It has some cool stuff like a cowboy on a rocking chair and when you hit his target he lets out a real loud sound and shoots a stream of water at you!! There is lots of other stunts on it. Check it out!

The last old-school shooting gallery i know of is in Seaside, near the northern end of Funtown pier. it's a cool arcade with the shooting gallery, an indoor carosel and a great retro game room called "Flashbacks".
