yes, scca, the beach is getting wider and wider. The Cape May jettys are causing this. Pretty soon we will be able to walk to Portugal. I would like to see it about 1/2 the width, seriously. Pretty soon the guys on the fishing pier in the crest will be fishing on sand even during high tide! Just a little nit to pick here...it's actually the Cold Spring Jetties that are causing the sand to pile up in Wildwood...oh and the Fishing Pier is all but closed now. The few members that are left really can't do much more than stare out to sea. Thanks, I did not know that about the jettys, folks have always told me it was the Cape May ones. Re the fishing pier, I've looked at that sign "Founded in 1917" for the last 37 years more or less. Funny, this past year, I was just thinking if there are any of the original guys still left (they would be over 100 I suppose). Too bad they always keep it locked and do not allow the general public to go on it. I would be happy to pay a few bucks to go out there.
