Just looking at the old pics on Funchase and saw something that brings back a memory. Does anyone else remember the motorcycle stunt riders on Sportland Pier? They were in a tall bowl-like structure and they would ride around the walls while doing tricks. The viewing area was all around the top of the bowl. Not sure how many seasons that lasted, but I do remember seeing them with my dad. The picture I saw was from '67.

(The one you stood in and swung back and forth until you got the cage to go over the top. The whole idea was to see how fast you could get it going and how many times you could go over the top until the operator hit the breaks and forced you to stop.) The motorcycle cage was there around that time. What I remember the most about it was the incredible noise when those bikes got going. Sounded like a really loud buzz saw. Thom

Morey's Pier (26th street) had a motorcycle stunt show like that in the late 70's or early 80's also. It was towards the back of the pier.
