I posted a few months back that when wandering around Wildwood, I gazed into the window of the Lamp Post Diner and it seemed as though everything inside was left as is, and was virtually untouched. Looking through the window and seeing that was actually pretty eerie. But last weekend while in Wildwood I was again interested and took another glance. When I looked this time, there was napkin dispensers, silverware, menus, glass, ect scattered all over the floor (on the right side of the resturant if you are looking at it, and much of the mess was by the lunch counter). I was wondering if anyone knows anything about it? Its been closed for a few years now and it has gone almost untouched. Is someone going in and out of there now or is it vandalism? Any ideas? If anyone knows anything at all about its future please fill us in.
If the tiny Bait Shop that stodd next to Moores and across from McDonalds, anything can. I'm thinking if those 2 wonderful places were bought so condos could be built there, then wouldn't the site of the Lamp Post be prime real estate. With everything goin on, I'm surprised its been empty so long.

Another side note...
I remember the fall that the diner closed. At the end of the season, a sign was put in the window saying "After 25 years, we have sold! Come see us at our new location at the Captain's Table in Wildwood Crest!" or something to that effect. That summer I believe the Capt. Table was also gone. Anyone know anything about the owners? Anyone know anything about the current owners of the property where the Lamp Post opperated for so many years? Just curious as the Lamp Post was easily my favorite Diner in all of the Wildwoods!

We loved that place too. When the Star was built, you knew it was only a matter of time before the Lampost would close its doors forever. I am also very surprised that its has not been town down for condos.

I think the people that owned the lamp post diner ran the ct for its final two years 2003 and 2004.
