Is the conversion done? Would love to see a pic of any view you feel like sharing!

That's a nice site. It wouldn't be so bad if they built condos in the style of the old motels like that one called Hawaii Kai. It would sort of keep the spirit of the motels alive. It does look kind of out of place to see modern housing next to 1950's architechture.

Those pics look like they are from last year. The townhouse built behind the Pyramid is not up yet.

Would love to see a pic of any view you feel like sharing! IIRC, the Cara Mara has been "converted" for almost 20 years. Right you are, Martin (not that that comes as a surprise), according to an old post from Doo Wop Mike D, who said his family was involved in the Cara Mara's condo plan beginning in 1987--which, incidentally, is a post worth reviewing: dwpl.proboards44.com/index.cgi?board=meeting&action=display&thread=1116536194#1116536194 Funny, at some point back when I started doing more exploration of the Wildwoods on foot about 10 years ago, I remember getting a vague feeling there was something different about the Cara Mara, but I never realized it was one of the early motel-condo conversions. I've read several references on this board to recent renovations at the Cara Mara and erroneously assumed they were part of the initial conversion. Sorry for the misleading comment. Fortunately, most people around here are well-informed enough to know better

Thanks It *should* work like this - if and when the owner of a wants to rent their unit, they put it into a rental pool. The units available at a given time in the pool allow the Cara Mara (or other Condoized Motels like it) to still operate like a Motel to the non-owners.
