While in WW last week I was pleased to notice (as others have remarked) that their appeared to be less DEMO signs about. Even better, it appeared that many of the motels closing down for the season after Columbus day were taking great measures to winterize their buildings...hopefully a good sign that they will be up and thriving come spring. The Shalimar, Cape Cod, Fluer di Lis, Royal Hawaiin all looking good amonst others. Despite the many condo monstrosities that abound, things seemed relatively peaceful in motel land. This came as a relief after a less than optimistic visit to the boards...sigh.

I stayed at the Cape Cod back in may as most of you remember I put photos up. The Cape Cod is one of the best motels on the island! Rose sinks a ton of time and money into keeping there place in tip top condition. I plan on taking lots of photos the 1st week in November.

The Cape Cod does look in great shape plus they added the 4th floor. I hope the CC and its sister across the street, the tangiers are around for many years to come.

rumor has it - (from a reliable local) that the Fluer de Lis is planning to bring the existing motel down - build a bigger & better 4 floor motel - parking underneath and the pool will be located towards the back street near the beach.

Fluer de Lis looks good from the outside. Never stayed there but I would imagine its on going anywhere especially with the percentage of French Canadians that still go to WW
