A critical goal of the Doo Wop Preservation League is to secure planning and zoning ordinances that protect the unique character and identity of the Wildwoods, promote economic development and tourism, encourage intelligent growth with a well-balanced mix of commercial and residential development, helping to guide the Wildwoods' evolution into an economically viable, world-class resort destination for the 21st century.
The DWPL feels strongly that by incorporating our extensive and uniquely preserved collection of mid-20th century resort architecture (an asset that exists nowhere else in the country outside of the Wildwoods) into a long-term plan for the resort's re-development, we will be able to offer a new generation of tourists a unique experience that can't be duplicated anywhere else in the world, while maintaining a unique quality of life for current and future residents.
This board is the place to share your thoughts, ideas and strategies for planning and preservation in the Wildwoods, as well as how to build community support and spread the DWPL's message to residents, politicians, developers and investors both inside and outside of the Wildwoods.
