Interestingly enough, Ralph Grassi just added a "Hunt's Pier Sounds" section to his awesome website, The Funchase! Check it out at www.funchase.com. Unfortunately, I am at work at this time, and I do not have speakers on my computer. I can't wait to get home to listen to (and relive) some of these great sounds!!!

Oh wow - that's great! Ralph does a great job with his site. Nice guy too, from the few times I've e-mailed him.

I check out Ralph's site a few times each week, as well as mr. boardwalk's, and the things these fellows add to their sites regularly is truly great!

My favorite sound is of the loud sledgehammer electrong game, combined with the screams of people on rides. I also like the sound of the frog bog being played.

TheJays: Kind of sounds like Freddy Canon's recording of PALIDASES PARK!

My favorite was always, "Can I have your attention please, Mariner's Landing will be closing in 15 minutes". Or when Ed would play "Take this job & shove it". It was always the last song played on closing day at Mariners.

LOL...904! ...and that is probably one of the sad sounds for the tourist-types. Nother sound..Sea Serpent--'Last Ride of the night'...and seeing how many workers run to jump on the coaster.

This WAS my favorite sound: Fifteen men on a dead man's chest, Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum. I also miss the sounds from the .22 caliber shooting galleries. Your attention please...We used to get a kick out of the "lost little boy" announcements. I'd swear it was always a kid with "blonde hair and blue eyes"! How about the sound of bicycle tires rumbling over loose boards?

most of the above, plus the air-piston sounds on the old rides that made the things move (like the barrels in the Nugget). and the b-b machine guns, and the bell ringing right after the balloon popped on the water gun games.....

Yes, I remember that parrot on the Pirate Ship. That takes me back. My favorite sound was the golden nugget cars coming out of the mine shaft going into the other as someone stated earlier.

Yes, I remember that parrot on the Pirate Ship. That takes me back. My favorite sound was the golden nugget cars coming out of the mine shaft going into the other as someone stated earlier. I'm not sure it was the parrot doing the YO HO HO and a bottle of rum, I thought it just came from somewhere on the ship, that you could hear it as soon as you got near it, or just as you entered. It was a deep booming voice singing it, slowly. Or is my mind slipping??? That was a long time ago..... The Golden Nugget, coming out of the shaft, that sound was Wildwood to me!!! You could hear that sound anywhere on that end of the boardwalk.
