I just got back from wildwood tonight! The nor easter is getting painted! It looks like grey primer but is rumored to be getting painted white! The red was really fading into pink! Im sure it will look great for 2006!

Sounds good to me---yes it was looking a bit weathered. Hopefully the rest of the pier will also get a "face lift" for the new season.

Just look straight ahead---however if you do that you will miss the effect of the coaster running into the water park slides or the Log Floom. I must say that the Nor Easter is placed quite well in between all of that.

Compared to newer coasters that are coming out the noreaster is very rough! Vekoma coasters were big when they came out but better coasters have passed vekoma buy leaps and bounds! I think vekoma went out of business for awhile but are still hanging on.

Compared to newer coasters that are coming out the noreaster is very rough! That's why they call the Nor' Easter a hang 'n' bang.

This may just be the passage of time playing a trick on me, but am I correct in remembering that when the Nor’Easter first opened, the cars did not have the rubber pads that now absorb a lot of the side-to-side banging of your head/ears as the ride flies around the track?
The coaster still beats you up pretty good, but, for some reason, I remember it really battering me around in its earliest days of operation.

I believe you are right. I remember riding it the first year it was up---we got there on a Friday night and went on it 4 times in a row. The following day we were at the water park and all of a sudden there was cops---ambulance---fireman all around the Nor Easter and on the beach. Apparently--for some reason a worker went into a fenced in area to clean while the ride was operating and was killed by the car as it went by. The riders in the front seats suffered broken ankles. It was a scary thing to watch from the top stairs on the water park. The ride stayed closed for the next 5 days. After that they put up the 10 foot high fencing on the beach area surrounding the Nor Easter.

I remember that; what a terrible tragedy.
The worker, poor guy, just shouldn’t have been where he was while the ride was in operation. You had to feel terrible for his family, but also for the Moreys and especially for the person who collided with the worker.
There was obviously nothing that person could do to avoid it, but I can imagine that such an incident must play on his/her mind quite heavily.
It must have been surreal to witness the aftermath of this incident in person, video. I can’t even imagine.

Yeah it was not a good thing to have seen---plus all the kids at the water park seeing this poor guy who was killed laying on the beach. Of course when we left the water park the place was crawling with reporters trying to get the "story" with no regard for friends and family of this guy. I also remember the next summer they had placed a wreath by the entrance to the Nor Easter in his memory when we were getting on line for the ride.

Wow, they are painting it white? I actually liked the pink better as it stood out more. My husband did not care much for the ride as the banging from side-to-side hurt his head, even though it was padded. I had been on it before when it first opened and actually forgot how rough it was.
Yes, I also heard about that poor guy getting hit. Such a terrible thing to happen. I almost was afraid to go on it at first.
