Hunt's and the old Marine Pier (pier 5). What a shame. Somebody please remove those stupid go-karts, at least turn them into shops or a mall like the pier in AC across from Caesars.
Like Todd Rundgren said "Something/Anything?"

Don't forget Sportland Pier. That's also go-karts.

I was telling someone that the rides used to go out all the way to the street when we were walking past casino arcade pier the other day. I also showed them where the castle once sat on Midway pier.

we love the karts.. No everyone thinks they are stupid.. Sorry FlyinGN, I did not mean this as a slight to go-kart lovers, I just meant that having them and nothing else on 2 out of 5 of the piers (40% of the pier real estate) seems like an incredible economic waste. And no matter what type of improvements are made to the boardwalk, having these two piers standing in virtual ruins is a blemish.

IMO, they'd be better off building that multi-level go-kart track on Adventure Pier, and filling up Hunt's, building off a restored Golden Nugget...

I looked at the Nugget in depth last weekend....very sad looking indeed. Looks as though it will take mega $$$ to restore, if that is even an option at this point.....
Correct me if I'm wrong....
Wasn't the Morey's surveying on their website if people want to Golden Nugget Back??? Were they playing with our minds???

Rick, I don't think the Moreys were playing with our minds by posting about the Nugget on their website (at least not intentionally).
I think, considering the massive amount of money they would have to invest into the ride to move/re-open it, they were just trying to gauge the level of interest that is actually out there.
I can't really blame them. If it's going to happen, they better make sure that it will be profitable, or it could wind up being a disastrous mistake.
I wish we could get more updates as to what's going on with the plan, but I'm sure there's a good reason why they haven't gone public with anything further.
Like you, I've been keeping a close eye on the Nugget, and, externally, at least, it looks to be deteriorating noticably. It can't sit there too much longer without operating, I would have to think.
A decision, one way or another, has to be made soon.

I argee at this point the amount of $$$ needed to restore it would not justify the return in profit from people riding the ride. They should have done something years ago, they didn't and now you can add it to the lost treasure list.

Keep those cards and letters going - it can't hurt, and I know they like to see that interest hasn't dimished...

I hate to admit it but I agree with most of you about the deterioration of the Nugget. I have seen it up close several times throughout the past 2 years and it seems to go from bad to worse each time I see it.
It's a real shame that the Moreys haven't done ANYTHING to repair this ride. They can send out as many surveys as they want but it's in dire need of some attention from engineers, carpenters, electricians, etc. I know it's going to take an enormous amount of money to fix this ride but the longer they wait, the more expensive it will be.
I guess I am waiting for the Moreys to "save the day" and bring back this ride... unfortunately, as I have said many times before, unless they do something NOW; this ride will be gone forever. Trust me, I have had nightmares where I actually see the top floor of the Nugget imploding and crashing in on itself..... and I don't EVER want to see that happen!
One last comment about the letter writing; how many times do we need to write the Moreys before we see some progress? I would think there's a huge amount of interest from the past correspondence and I know for a fact that they have heard from me at least 4-5 times from this past year.
