Does anyone know if Knoll's is still standing? I have not heard any info on it in a while and when I called the number it was no longer in service.

As crazy mentioned, Knoll's is indeed still standing. However, the property seemed to have undergone some pretty extensive interior renovations this offseason. Looked like all the rooms were gutted at one point earlier this year. I've been by a number of times since, but I haven't had the chance to inspect the motel up close. Perhaps someone in the area can cruise by at some point report on how it looks. Now, crazy mentioned the family that owned the place, which was the Donio family. Interestingly enough, I just checked their website, and Knoll's is no longer listed as being one of their properties. See: www.daytonamotorinn.com/So, though I have no definitive knowledge of this, it looks like they may have sold the Knoll's motel. If so (or, really, either way), it looks like we're probably looking at a condo-conversion here. The Donio's always kept Knoll's in prestine condition (well-kept property, fresh paint, etc.), at least from the outside. I've never heard anything but good things about their properties. They apparently still own the Daytona (formerly Pulaski) Motor Inn, the Ocean Air Apts. and the Sandy Cove Inn.

Let's hope so.
One thing works in our favor -- There really aren't many motel demolitions or "cookie cutter" condos popping up on that area of Atlantic Ave. in Wildwood proper.
I think the city has done a great job in regulating new construction in and around the "midtown" area.

Great info! Its also good to know that Knoll's is going to be around. As was mentioned earlier it was always a clean, well kept place.

I wonder if they'll bring back green lighting for the exterior?

Way back Knoll's used to be open year round. It had an outrageous sign, there is a pic at Boyer Museum. Its been looking bland and rough now for several years.

I think the sign is too small!( I would like to see a pic of the old sign! )The building does not appear to be in bad shape. The family that owned it kept there motels in good shape. Im going to try and find a pick for you.

Al, Your the man! Looks like they sold knolls. It looks like its going to be converted but will stay? Does this mean it will be like the lollipop? I think so. There is a "Financed by Commerce Bank" sign outside and renovations have been done (as Al said above). This usually indicates it will be sold as condo units. But I don't have any "inside information," other than the sign. Hey, aceholdings, any info. on this?
