Al, since they didn't doze the sign, I had hoped someone had plans for it. It stayed put for weeks after the lot was cleared?

That is a good point, re. I guess if no one had claimed it, they could have just bulldozed it along with the motel a while back.
Let's keep our fingers crossed...

Who cares, the Lurae is being replaced with more useless condos. Like everything else in NWW.

We need to look to the future and try to save the historic places that are still standing.

It's not just New Jersey, either. It's all over. Went away for awhile from my home town and I kid you not, when I came back, things changed so much; a new highway, landscaping, buildings torn down; that when I got off the exit I THOUGHT was right to go home, I thought I took the wrong one and almost had a panic attack! It's sad but nothing stays the same anymore.

If things change for the the better is one thing but change just for the sake of change is foolish.

Change is just hard to accept if you don't want it. Doesn't matter if it is needed or not.

It's just that there's good change and bad change, like almost anything else.

No, you can't live in the past but give me a break here. If things keep changing the way they are and buildings keep getting torn down, what's going to be left to even show our kids or grand kids?? I've even seen BEAUTIFUL buildings built in the 1800's, that were used as taverns or restaurants torn down to build WaWa's. And you know why? WaWa brings in alot more $$$$$. That's what this world revolves around. This world is so fast=paced; where can you find a nice, quiet decent place to eat or enjoy yourself anymore? I remember as a kid, every Sunday my parents and us kids used to go for a drive and just "sight-see". You can't even do that anymore. Someone's always up your ***.

Yep, the big aggressive companies such as WaWa and Wal-Mart only care about one thing- $$$$ and agressive expansion to make more money, even at the expense of farmland and historic buildings. So, we will see more copycat places that will draw hordes of traffic.

we still do this. All the time.. There is still wonderful things to see and visit out there. It all did not end in the 50's... No, you can't live in the past but give me a break here.
