WE always get our fudge at Fudge Kitchen. We love Douglas for salt water taffy and molasses taffy paddles. Mallen's Fudge isn't bad for the price-buy one get one deal runs all summer--7.99 for 2lbs.

Douglass for fudge (chocolate walnut) and taffy...Laura's for fresh chocolate- dipped fruit. Gotta eat it right away cause it doesn't last. I agree that the exterior of Laura's and the interior of Douglass are what we love to see each time we visit. I say it's a tie!!! They each have a special quality. Am enjoying a Douglass chocolate taffy at the moment....Mack's, by the way.

I like James' sign, the huge barrrel. I would call that a landmark sign on the boards.

Douglass's all the way! From the cute boxes and bags, to the outstanding candy including the taffy, chocolates, non-parials, and those dog suckers that my kids love!!!
We always have to bring so much back to all of our friends by the end of the week I am usually charging my purchase. It is the best.
Could it also have something to do with my Dad and grandparents being Scotch?
Love it! Jackie

I'm partial to Laura's for most things -- James for the chocolate covered taffy (oh Heaven!) and while I LOVE Douglass I've just never bought much in there -- We go up for our summer trip just after Labor Day (the rooms are cheaper so we can afford to stay twice as long!) so THIS year I'll try to get a good sampling of fudge and taffy so we can compare -- much like we do with Mack's and Sam's ;D

Laura's for fudge and molasses sponge.....James for taffy - especially the chocolate-covered. Douglas has good taffy, too.
Anyone remember Sagel's? They had excellent taffy.
