Was cleaning out the garage this afternoon, and lo and behold I found a box of old vacation brochures - including a well-thumbed Wildwood Accomodations Directory. It isn't dated, but I am fairly certain it's from 1972 or 1973 - the centerfold is the "new $2 million convention complex dedicated 1971"
As time permits, I'll scan the pages and post links here.

Here's a few pages to whet your appetite. www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=8nrixqbt.2qcb9og5&x=0&y=eysusuI'm going to revise my guesstimate on the date - I suspect this directory was for the 1975 season, based on the Bal Harbour page. Also, does anyone have a better suggestion for hosting than kodakgallery? I'd rather not share as a slideshow, but that seems to be their only option.

For hosting, you could try Photobucket, which has been used by various people here. A point in their favor is that they have their own browser, called Flock (looks like a modification of Firefox), that makes it relatively easy to upload a bunch of files at once. Imageshack also has its good points. I haven't tried Flickr but I think a lot of people use it, and it looks friendly enough. www.photobucket.comwww.imageshack.uswww.flickr.com

Very nice - thank you. I'd guess '75 as well, looking at the Bal Harbour ad. I have a '73 guide that has ads just like yours.

I've got a slightly older accomodations directory. Does anyone know what was in the Bal Harbor's location before it was built? Could it have been the Beach Waves motel? It looked like they had some nice beach frontage.

I learned how to use Photobucket here when trying to post a picture - Flyingn pretty much talked me through how to work it and I have used it here and other sites since and really like it. www.photobucket.com

Is the All Star the one that was owned by a group of Phillies players? I remember my dad talking about a place that was, and All Star seems like a likely name.
Thanks for the hosting suggestions, I will check them out.

Its interesting that the Ala Kai looks almost exactly the same. From the looks of things the Acropolis was a new motel in 73.
