One thing I'm tired of is the 6 page specials in all the papers about the Yankees. Get over it, you lost, you don't deserve to advance, stop crying about unfair calls by the umps, stop making excuses on why you were done wrong, stop acting like without the Yankees the playoffs are pointless. The Mets who actually have somthing to show have become the far-second story in New York, and these Yankee articles have been taking priority over the future games that actually matter in the baseball world. Hopefully that stops tommorow. Iv'e never seen a team, or fans whine so much when they lost. Except it and hope for a better next year. That's what Ive done with the Mets for years. No need for lousy excuses. Just my three cents. Good point, Doowopper. Yes, hopefully, in a week's time or so, we'll be seeing plenty of 6-page specials on the Mets' failure to advance, rather than all this tired Yankee stuff. ;D

I'm not saying the Yankees don't deserve a shot but with a huge bank account, they have a much better chance since they can pay for the best players. Living in NYC, I see so many Yankees caps/clothing and it drives me crazy. There are far too many "transplants" (i.e. people who weren't born in New York) who latch onto the Yankees. (Personally, I've always been a Philly-teams fan because of my close proximity to Philadelphia.) I think the Mets have a good chance... they just won Game 1 against the Cardinals tonight. I just hope I don't start seeing a bunch of brand-new Mets caps/clothing around town. I'm always rockin my Philly gear—I wore my Eagles sweatshirt on Monday morning and caught so much sh*t! HAHA!

Excess fans are nauseating. Like going to State College and seeing all of the "Lion" crap, Lion flags, Lion radio commercials, Lion this Lion that. Like being at a Soviet May Day rally, except everything is blue and white.
Frig the Lion!

It may be cold here and we got bumped from prime time, but our tigers are still HOT!!!
Kenny Rogers pitched a great game and we are one win away from going to the World Series!
Big sports weekend in this State. Michigan plays Penn State in Prime time, MSU plays OSU, the tigers play this afternoon, and oh yeah, our lions play (hopefully with some gusto) tomorrow!

I'm proud to say that I am I life long Yankee fan. I didn't jump on the bandwagon in 1996 when they started winning. I had to suffer through the dark days in the late 80's/early 90's when you could not give Yankee tickets away. See how many of these so called Yankee fans remember names like Mata, Pasqua and Meachum. Unfortunatly I do.

Jackie, I'm guessing that you suffered through the Tigers 119 loss season a few years back?

Hulk,
I am 45 so I go way back!! Yep, it was who was going to be worse, the tigers or the lions. It really is a happy day here in the state of Michigan. The A's played a great game yesterday. I was waiting the whole game for Frank Thomas to belt one out of here! We were on the edge of our seats here at home watching. When Magg's hit that home run, my husband and I jumped up and I started yelling, "It's a Kirk Gibson Moment!!"
Anyway, we are off to the World Series next Saturday to play either the Mets or the Cardinals. Should be a great series!

Either team is in trouble. The Tigers are like the Red Sox of '04, everything is going their way. Dust off the Bobby Higginson jersey and cheer them on as they march to a world title.

Thanks Hulk, I am still nervous. It is pretty exciting here. People are buying Tiger Gear as soon as the boxes are open. My husband was at one of the big sports stores around here and the line was 20 deep to buy tiger gear. Penney's was packed Sunday to buy $20 and $25 t shirts.
I tried so hard Monday to buy Word Series tickets (that I could not really afford anyway) on line, but could not get through. They were sold out in about a half and hour. Bummer! Oh well, I can sit in my living room and watch the game.
It was cold and rainy yesterday so the tigers practiced at Ford Field. It will be the only way we ever have a champion playing there!!!
GO TIGERS!!

I actually have a tigers jersey circa 1994. I will wear it if the Mets don't make it to the WS. Even though i'm a Yankee fan I still have to pull for the NY team.
