Interesting theory, Jackie.
I definitely think there is something more to the whole thing. I don't know that it really deserves to be blown out of proportion the way it has been, but what the heck. It is kind of a fun subplot.
Rogers is a great character. I know a lot of people (myself included) figured he was pretty washed up heading into this year, but it's nice to see a veteran come along with a resurgence like this.
Like you noted, Jackie, this could very well have been an old war horse's way of deflecting attention and pressure away from his younger teammates. A great move, if that's what he had in mind.
Gotta love all the twists and turns of October baseball!

Thanks Al and Hulk for the comments this morning.
Kenny Rogers is definitely and interesting character. I just hoping he can pump some of that adrenaline into the tiger bats!!!!
Wow, is that game over yet. I was getting dizzy just watching the cardinals round the bases. Boy did their pitcher throw a great game. The boys need to win tonight or that whole is pretty big!!!
Go Tigers! Jackie

Jackie,
Do you remember the '68 tigers coming back from a 3-1 deficit to win the world series?

I hate to say it and no disrespect to Jackie but this has been one of the most dissappointing world series I can remember. The tigers and cardinals are two teams that do not draw a national audience as reflected by the tv ratings and now it looks like this thing will be over in five games, which should been four games if Rogers was ejected for throwing his "magic" curve ball. Sadly, this is a year when clearly the two best teams are not play in the ws. If this was 15 years ago when we still had the old divisions neither of these teams even would have even made the playoffs.

Hulk,
Yes I do remember the 68 Series. It was such an exciting time. Honestly, that is the reason I wanted us to play the Cardinals! Man, talk about a team that beat themselves! It was tough to watch the tigers keep making all those errors!
I understand what you are saying about the two best teams, but with all do respect, we did for most of the season have the best record in baseball. Yes, I know that we do not have the nationwide draw, but this team exceeded all expectations this year. You know, when it comes to hockey, we have seen the wings go out in the first round and it broke our hearts here in the Detroit area.
So, the tigers roar no more and we are back to being Hockey Town. Now, if we have do well with team minus Shanny, minus our great Stevie Y who retired and the return of the Dominator, then it could get eciting around here again!
Thanks for all the great comments.
Jackie
