Jackie,
Being a Yankee season ticket holder I can tell you our WS tickets would have been $480 each. Be prepared to break the bank if you try to get tickets online.

Hulk, I think you're right -- The Tigers just have that "team of destiny" vibe about them right now. The White Sox had the same thing going for them last year. You just kind of "knew" they were going to win it all. Jackie, rest easy... you guys are going to win this thing. As much as it pains me to say it, I think the Mets would have a slightly better chance of beating Detroit than St. Louis would, but it won't really matter in the end. It's nice and refreshing to see some of these classic old teams (not named the Yankees) back in the spotlight. The White Sox and Tigers hadn't been relevant for some time. Good to see them and their loyal fanbases rewarded in this way. Now, if only the Phillies... ... ... ... ... ah, nevermind...

Unless you are sitting in real good seats it was $120 ticket x 4 games = $480. Looks like you can get seats for the Tigers on Ebay for about $350 each

The Sox caught some big breaks last year. Most notably the strikeout that was ruled hit the dirt in game 2 of the ALCS. Without that call they could have been down 2-0 in that series and who knows what would have happened

So, uh, I didn't catch that game last night.
How'd it work out for the Mets there?

You're a real riot Al, which one of these will happen first: 1. Pigs will fly 2. Hell will freeze over 3. The Phillies will win another World Series.

Not enough options there, Hulk. In the very least, the following will happen prior to the Phillies winning a World Series: Pigs will fly Hell will freeze over The Pope will get married The Golden Nugget will re-open Caste Dracula will be re-built SNL will finally be put out of its misery Frank (FlyinGN) will visit the Grand ‘Ol Opree! Crippled Visions will win the Nobel Peace Prize I will go a whole week without eating pizza Robert will actually return to Wildwood Yeah… it’s gonna be a loooooooooooong wait…

Al,
I'm glad I read your post, it gave me a good laugh this morning. Well, we had a little bump in the road last night, but Tiger town is not in any panic!!! On to game two and Kenny Rogers on the mound. Here hoping we tie this up before heading out to St. Louis.
GO Tigers! Jackie

If this post season has showed us anything its that anything is possible. Don't go putting rings on the tigers fingers just yet.

I actually have a tigers jersey circa 1994. I will wear it if the Mets don't make it to the WS. Even though i'm a Yankee fan I still have to pull for the NY team. Hey Hulk--Happy birthday! And thanks for being such a good New York fan, even if it was all in vain this time around... ;D

The Bronx Bombers will be back in the World Series sooner than later. Al, I always enjoy your sense of humor although i think the Phillies will win a world series before Robert gets to WW.
Thanks for the birthday wishes Fuzzy. Its a pleasure getting your insite on alot of stuff. I never knew all that history behind the Atlantis Lodge. You are a good source of info.

I can't wait to watch game 3. I'm excited to see what other Detroit starters will be using pine tar on their pitching hand.
I guess we now know why Kenny has such a good curve ball. ;D

Now Hulk,
Our 40 year old plus pitcher forgot to wash the dirt off his hands before he came out to pitch! He actually pitched even better when his hands were clean. The managers are not making a big deal about it, only the media which is usually the case. Give it up to Kenny, he knows how to hopefully turn the momentum back the tigers way. Anyway, Todd Jones gave us all a slight scare in the ninth. Boy, was I yelling at the TV for that!
On to game 3. Hope the tigers will win one or two games here and come back to win this at home this weekend. St. Louis has a really good ball club. Either way, this ball club has proved they can play with the best and win too!
GO TIGERS! Jackie Michigan girl

I really am no conspiracy theorist, but the thought did at least cross my mind that this whole "smudge" thing was some sort of stunt by FOX to promote the "wonders of HD technology." Was it just me, or did Joe Buck not mention once or twice how the "spectacular technology" enabled by HD allowed the cameras to detect it in the first place? Of course, I was watching on my friend's 62-inch HD, and I did hear that the smudge was still visible enough on the non-HD broadcasts. But, it's still a thought. Kenny Rogers has somewhat of a checkered past. I wouldn't be completely shocked if the network came to him on the side and said "Hey, you wanna make a few extra bucks? Put this goo on your hand for an inning or so, then we'll have you wash it off." He's a veteran; he wouldn't get rattled by the "controversy," would he? This might also explain, if they were aware of such a thing, why neither manager (especially Tony LaRussa) made a big deal over it. Yes, the whole premise is rather ridiculous. But, there could be some merit here. Plus, the whole thing really has gotten people talking, and has added more attention to a World Series that I think FOX feared wouldn't pull in the ratings it had previously hoped for. Just some food for thought.

Al, Funny you mentioned that. I kind of thought maybe Kenny did it to take all the pressure off the rest of the tigers. This way the boys could play ball and he could hold off the media.
