Just wondering, if it were up to you what is the ONE thing in Wildwood you would want back.
I would have to say Castle Dracula since I never had the chance to check it out

well you can check it out here www.darkinthepark.com they also sell a dvd which takes you on a virtual tour of the castle, with sound, but it has alot of the photos already on the site. It's a good thing they took all those photos of the interior a year before the fire. Too bad you didn't make it through. In my opinion it was the best haunted attraction in WW. You mentioned you visited WW 1999, it was alive and well then, both the castle and Dungeon boat ride but in 2002 it was completely gone with a bungee trampoline thrill ride replacing it. The dark in the park site explains everything that happened with the fire, etc. I too wanted it back but it's highly unlikely the Nickels (pier owners since 1976) will rebuild it. They were going to rebuild but then they got into legal battle with the waterpark people who lease the pier from the Nickels over who owns what. One thing about the castle is that it would play Bach Toccata and Fugue in D Minor outside all day, very creepy like. And at night there were flaming torches outside on the walls. Inside they played creepy organ music in the front room and elsewhere. There's a few people posting here that were former employees/actors of the castle. Another thing I miss is the old Hunt's Pier with all it's themed rides. Now it's stinking go-karts with the closed Golden Nugget.

It's a toss up between Hunt's pier and the Castle.
Can I have both?

1985. Seriously, what I wouldn't give to grab my digital camera and go back in time for just one day.

I’d probably hit up Nate’s for some cheapo hot dogs, then visit the Funnel Cake guy who used to operate out of one of the retail locations at the base of Castle Dracula (on Cedar Ave.) for desert.
That would be the first thing.

I think I would (if I could) go to the beach, go way out like we use to before Jaws came out...Run back to the pool jump in and then have a bbq and a movie by poolside. And of course kiss my grandparents for making so many happy memories for me....

Wow...I remember living on Nate's hotdogs..
If I could bring something back..it would be the Castle..hey..I will always have a spot in my heart for that place. It's where Contessa Anisha was 'born'. I would like to bring back the Flyer and the Screem Machine too...I loved those coasters..they were not the biggest, or the scariest..but they were fiun. Y'all remember the Tubes of Terror or the Wave Swinger on Marine West/Miday?

This may sound lame but if we could go back in time I would pay more attention to my Wildwood surroundings. I guess I just always expected it to there as it always was. year after year! re

How about Aqua Circus. I enjoyed the shows there. A lot of great memories of Wildwood and hard to pick just one thing. I could name probably two dozen.

Great Forum..... I would bring back the Paradise Cove motel.... something about the neon light reminds me of a perfect Wildwood night. A very close second is the Dolphin Restaurant in NW.

I would say the old timers would bring back the starlight ballroom. I hardly remember it. I would bring back the hollywood casino, hunts pier(skua pirate ship), fun pier(sky tower, monorail) sportland pier (Showcase for european rides back in the day) , All the piers that operated on the west side of the boards, ed zaberers ( never got to try it out) ooops it was supposed to be 1 thing. not 10 things!
