It would be cool if they called the motel the Manor and built it similar to the original hotel.

I agree with the Olney crew in that ad. I'm just really glad that we did get to eat there this summer before it closed. The food was good, had a great game room and nice golf area. Our family had nice memories there. They will be missed!

I was unaware of it until just the past couple of years (because I never stayed in or near North Wildwood), but I can certainly appreciate now why people are sad to see it go. I guess by now each of us has a short list of excisions from the island that have drawn our personal blood. You'll still find plenty of places to play Skee-ball or have a good breakfast, but yes, the options are dwindling.

Thanks for the research kathy. I would bid on the pac man game if I had a place to put it.

Cameras are so much more user-friendly than pencils and paints... I'm glad I wasn't born in the days when you had to be truly artistic in order to capture an image of something that was dear to you.

This is so sad. I wish I had taken photos while I was inside eating or playing the video games. I do have photos of the kids playing golf. I'm glad I have those!

So true. And, considering the quality of my artistic abilities, if I were born prior to the age of accessible photography, I would have been screwed! ;D I'm really going to miss the Hawaiian Rumble. Having stayed in and around that area of North Wildwood for years, it was always a very familiar and fun place to visit. I guess my emotions are somewhat tempered at this time because this is something that we've known was coming. I visited the Rumble a few times this summer, and with the new construction going up all around it, the area seemed so foreign. I'm sure it's something I'll get used to as I continue to visit that area, but the radical change happened so fast; I just felt way out of my element there. The Rumble was like a mini-oasis in the middle of a bizarro world this year.

we just got back from our weekend vacation and could not bear to go to the Rumble saturday. Did take a pic Friday tho and went by to say good bye Sunday.... Thanks to you guys for opening us to this place of wonder too. I can still hear the beach boys songs as we were eating our delicious breakfasts in August.. I sat there on our last day in August in tears eating.. Here is a pic of it Friday the day before the auction..
