Mike- Mack's always has a sign..TAKE A PIE HOME FOR YOUR FREEZER! Towards the end of Sept. they have another, closing Oct ??, don't forget to stock your freezer! There's a chain called Papa Murphy's, where you call in your order, pick up or delivery but you bake it in your own oven....pretty good. I think mostly in the Midwest and west coast, that's where I have had their pizza. www.papamurphys.com/

OK, when is the caravan leaving for Pottstown? ;D Nice food shots Mike! I truly think Mack's in a class by itself. The only pizza similar to it, in my opinion is pizza town usa in Elmwood Park on route 46 in northern bergen county. Some of you northern nj folks should now this place. You're right, Hulk--PizzaTown pies ARE a lot like Mack's. That is a totally classic joint, kind of doo-wop in fact. Warms my heart that it has survived all this time, since I was a little kid, and you all know how long THAT is. Check out this picture I found of it from a photographer named Joe Braun--first shot on the page: www.citrusmilo.com/joe/photography/inbox/

Oh darn. It's such a cool picture. What happens when you click on the link? It works for me I'd link the pic directly, but the site warns that mayhem will befall anybody who lifts images from it.

I can see the picture of Pizza Town - it looks much nicer at night all lit up. After passing it all these years I might have to try it. As for a pizza party - Mike's food looks great - I am in!

I tried the link again Kathi and the picture came up. Very cool picture of Pizza town lit up at night. Those glass doors slide off and in the summer it becomes an outdoor type place.

Glad the link worked when you tried again, Hulk, maybe the site was too busy the first time. I say we plan this...... A winter trip to Pottstown for a get together at Mikes for a pizza party!!!! What do you all say? ?? I'd absolutely consider it, although it's a bit of a haul from NYC (2:20). I'd love to meet everyone and I'd be all over that cheese steak stromboli ;D I may be in the Lancaster area, which is not too far from Pottstown, the weekend of Oct. 21-22. But as you suggested, Frank, this event probably would be better scheduled later on, as a break from the winter blues. And any short-range plans for me--including my September visit to Wildwood--are unfortunately subject to change right now, anyway, because we just got some bad news about my father's health on Friday, and he will be having major surgery some time in the next few weeks.

All the very best from us to your father and your family; here's hoping the surgery is a success, and everything works out OK.
