I agree, I think the fire did a lot for Sam's business this year. The old (smaller) location was never as busy as Mack's, yet this year it was like the pizza was being given away for free. I think next year things may return to normal, or whatever can be defined as normal in Wildwood

'Scuse the north Jersey detour again but I couldn't resist sharing these pix I took Monday. I was headed in the wrong direction and wasn't planning on stopping at Pizza Town, but when I saw the bikes, I had to do the U-turn.

Meant to say that it was excellent. I hadn't been there in two or three years. It was better than I remembered, and as Hulk said it's somewhat reminiscent of Mack's. In fact, comparing Monday's product at Pizza Town with Mack's from a couple of weeks ago, I'd have to say Pizza Town was the clear winner. Crust at least as good, less oily, not so intensely salty, and very flavorful. Do try it, everyone, if you happen to be traveling Route 46 one day (westbound side at Elmwood Park). Tip: Turn in at the second driveway because you have about a 50% chance of getting rear-ended trying to turn in at the first one

I can't even remember the last time I had a really good slice of pizza. Used to be a Rocky's near where I lived and that was one of the best I ever had.

Hey Nance! I couldn't agree with you more... since moving to Florida (YUCK), I now know what the Secret Ingredient is... it's Fish Juice in the Water! This State has the Worst Water in the Country I think. Gee, I wonder if Macks would deliver to Florida, if I throw in some Free Tickets to Disney Nance, still working on putting the Pics of my 50's House on the Net, stay tuned Have a Great Day! Kory

Someone once told me that it was the water in the NJ/NY area that made the pizza so good. I didn't believe it but a lot of people make mention of that, making me think that theory does "hold water".
And now I promise that is the one and only pun you'll hear from me for a long time!

I completely agree about the "water theory" ! Did you ever try to eat bread outside of this area? Like say Florida or California? Not nearly anywhere as good as home!

Try Lodi Pizza a little south of there as well.

Hey, NE Philly folks - How about Pizza City in Academy Plaza? I think their "secret" ingredient is pepper. That pizza has been excellent for the past 20+ years.

I like their pizza but I do have to admit that I like Pizza City on Frankford Ave the best! I just had Pizza City (Academy) last week. I LOVE pizza!!!!!!!!!!

Well, it's gotta be something because any southern state I've been to and even where I am now; their pizza is lousy!! They don't even have decent hotdogs here, or anywhere "south of the border." Wonder if I could get a real good pizza from Mac's delivered to here, too? What's their mile limit? Take your time, Kory, with the pics.
