Well I checked how far it is from my house in Jersey and it's saying it's about 1hour 40 minutes. Totally drivable and probably less when you actually drive it. And isn't there a nice big mall in King of Prussia? ;D

philly is kinda far from Pottstown. Im guessing its a 2 hour trip (if I get lost) for us too:) I figure for a winter break it would be a cool day trip:) Its easy to get to Pottstown. I am only about 35 minutes from Philly. 15 minutes from King Of Prussia! 35 mins is way better than 2 hours! ;D

K of P isn't very far from Pottstown, 422 takes you there quickly as long as there are no accidents.

This dude is on Sam's payroll for sure ;D After taste-testing was complete, Girl Slice and I sided with the majority of the Wildwoodies we spoke to: We're Sam's fans, hands down. Sam's had the better crust -- light, airy, crisp, and pleasantly salty, compared to Mack's, which was sufficiently crisp but not as light or thin and which lacked the saltiness we found so appealing at Sam's. Add to that the near-perfect cheese-to-sauce ratio at Sam's versus Mack's thick blanket of mozzarella and cheddar (the latter cheese of which we feel has no business on a pie or slice). Hmmmm... His photos are right up to date and his entry is labeled Aug. 15, but... Sam's saltier than Mack's? No way. Not last weekend, that's for sure. And the Mack's crust, which was per usual, was much lighter and thinner than Sam's. Interesting about the cheddar in the Mack's recipe and its contribution to the oiliness of the slice. Could be.

We should try to plan a weekend in WW next summer that works out for everyone. Tricky to pull that together, I'm sure, but it would be cool. Biker weekend (the weekend following Labor Day) gets my vote for '07

Thanks for the good thought Al, maybe it worked... the news got a bit better with clarification from the doctor Monday. He has a low-grade tumor so there's a very good chance that surgery alone will achieve a prolonged remission (I won't say cure because I don't believe cancer is ever cured). He's golfing at the shore as we speak, and sounding much cheerier. ... we just got some bad news about my father's health on Friday, and he will be having major surgery some time in the next few weeks. Kathi, I'm very sorry to hear about this. All the very best from us to your father and your family; here's hoping the surgery is a success, and everything works out OK.

Definitely worth adding to the itinerary for a Pottstown day trip. What better way to work up an appetite? ;D

I personally love Sorrento's pizza, the new Sam's place was packed all summer but I think Sam's pizza crust is horrible! I also prefer the fudge kitchen! ;D

Sams is extra extra busy this year and I think it has alot to do with all the exposure they got because of the fire and also because of there extra large store. Because of this, I think the quality has suffered a bit.

I like Mac's Pizza myself but if you would have seen the line outside of Sam's, it was incredible. These people were going to be waiting for a long time to eat.
